US: Wall St opens higher after retreating on inflation jitters
THE main US stock indexes opened higher on Friday (May 24), rebounding after Wall Street closed lower in the previous session on signs of persistent inflation that rekindled monetary policy caution ahead of a long weekend.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 23.97 points, or 0.06 per cent, at the open to 39,089.23.
The S&P 500 opened higher by 13.61 points, or 0.26 per cent, at 5,281.45, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 50.76 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 16,786.79 at the opening bell. REUTERS
