US: Wall St opens higher on positive bank results, chip stocks' rally
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Wednesday (Oct 15), boosted by solid results from major banks, while chipmakers rallied after positive quarterly results from ASML.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 104.7 points, or 0.23 per cent, at the open to 46,375.17.
The S&P 500 rose 44.0 points, or 0.66 per cent, to 6,688.27, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 216.8 points, or 0.96 per cent, to 22,738.496. REUTERS
