US: Wall St opens steady as investors prepare for August 1 deadline
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened steady on Friday (Jul 25) following record closes for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq in the previous session, while investors looked for signs of progress in trade talks as they braced for the August 1 tariff deadline.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 63.4 points, or 0.14 per cent, at the open to 44,757.28.
The S&P 500 rose 6.7 points, or 0.10 per cent, at the open to 6,370.01, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.0 points, or 0.01 per cent, to 21,059.941 at the opening bell. REUTERS
