US: Wall St opens subdued after Trump's latest attack on Fed

    [NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened slightly lower on Tuesday (Aug 26), pressured by a rise in longer-dated Treasury bond yields after US President Donald Trump’s decision to fire a Federal Reserve governor renewed concerns about the central bank’s independence.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 45.6 points, or 0.10 per cent, at the open to 45,236.83.

    The S&P 500 fell 3.8 points, or 0.06 per cent, at the open to 6,435.49​, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 5.7 points, or 0.03 per cent, to 21,443.631 at the opening bell. REUTERS
