US: Wall Street indices open higher with Fed remarks in focus
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indices opened higher on Wednesday (Oct 8) following a blip in a steady rally, as investors awaited fresh clues from Federal Reserve officials on the interest-rate trajectory.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 46.3 points or 0.1 per cent at the open to 46,649.32.
The S&P 500 rose 9.3 points or 0.1 per cent to 6,723.87.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 64 points or 0.3 per cent to 22,852.324. REUTERS
