US: Wall Street opens flat as Tesla, IBM results underwhelm

[NEW YORK] Wall Street opened flat on Thursday (Oct 23) as lacklustre earnings from Tesla and IBM dampened investor mood, while brewing trade tensions between the US and China threatened to deepen the market’s unease.
At 09.30 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 14.50 points, or 0.04 per cent, to 46,570.06.
The S&P 500 gained 6.03 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 6,705.15, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 6.99 points, or 0.07 per cent, to 22,755.88. REUTERS
