US: Wall Street opens higher on jobs data optimism; Tesla rebounds

[NEW YORK] US stock indexes opened higher on Friday (Jun 6) after a strong jobs report calmed worries over the health of the labour market, while Tesla shares rebounded on signs of cooling tensions between CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 312.1 points, or 0.74 per cent, at the open to 42,631.82. The S&P 500 rose 47.8 points, or 0.80 per cent, to 5,987.06, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 228.5 points, or 1.18 per cent, to 19,526.994. REUTERS
