Vard Holdings secures US$40m contract to build two vessels

VARD Holdings has bagged a US$40 million contract for the design and construction of two more module carrier vessels (MCVs) for Topaz Energy and Marine.
Both the vessels are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2018, Vard said in a Singapore Exchange filing on Thursday.
The vessels are sister ships of a series of 15 identical MCVs previously contracted by Topaz for delivery from Vard's shipyards in Tulcea and Braila in Romania, and Vung Tau in Vietnam.
They will be operated by Topaz through a consortium led by Blue Water Shipping.
Dubai-headquartered Topaz is an offshore support vessel company providing marine solutions to the global energy industry with the primary focus on the Caspian, Middle East, West Africa, and subsea operations in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
