Venture Corp and Hi-P International sizzle

SHARES of both Venture Corp and Hi-P International jumped on expectations of better outlook, as both ride on the positive sentiment surrounding the global technology boom.
Venture Corp's shares reached a high of S$15.80 during trading before closing at S$15.70, placing it among the top 20 gainers on the Singapore Exchange on Tuesday, as some 3.46 million shares worth around S$53.72 million changed hands. Its closing price was up 81 cents from Monday.
Shares in Hi-P - also among the top 20 gainers - closed 7.5 cents higher at S$1.30, after hitting S$1.31 earlier in the day. About 4.44 million shares valued at S$5.69 million were traded. Hi-P, which reported its Q2 results last week, saw its net profit nearly double from S$7.65 million to S$15.1 million, aided by lower cost of sales and lower income tax expenses.
