VENTURE Corporation may have posted first-quarter earnings that were in line with analysts' expectations, but its shares faced a sharp sell-off on Friday amid heavy trading.

The market seemed to be more concerned with the near-term implications of the electronics services firm possibly facing performance volatility due to some of its customers' product transitions.
