Wall St down at open as yields jump on inflation worries
[NEW YORK] Wall Street indexes opened sharply lower on Friday (May 15), as inflation fears triggered by the Middle East conflict drove up Treasury yields and threatened to halt an AI-fuelled rally.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 133.2 points, or 0.27 per cent, at the open to 49930.26.
The S&P 500 fell 56.1 points, or 0.75 per cent, at the open to 7445.11, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 346.3 points, or 1.30 per cent, to 26288.923 at the opening bell. REUTERS
