Wall St opens higher as Iran deal optimism offsets hawkish Fed
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s major indexes advanced on Thursday (Jun 18) with technology shares leading gains as optimism about a Middle East peace deal offset worries about a hawkish Federal Reserve under new Chair Kevin Warsh.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 79.3 points, or 0.15 per cent, to 51,571.85.
The S&P 500 rose 67.3 points, or 0.91 per cent, to 7,487.36, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 389.0 points, or 1.49 per cent, to 26,410.623 at the opening bell. REUTERS
