Wall St opens muted after AI-driven rally; labour data in focus
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened muted on Wednesday (Jan 7), as investors took a breather after an AI-driven rally in the previous session, while awaiting a labour market report due later in the day.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 50.6 points, or 0.10 per cent, at the open to 49,512.72.
The S&P 500 fell 0.3 points at the open to 6,945.07, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.3 points, or 0.01 per cent, to 23,544.894 at the opening bell. REUTERS
