Wall St opens muted after financials-driven rally
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened subdued on Tuesday (Jan 6), as investors took a breather after the main indexes posted their biggest intraday gains in weeks in the previous session, while markets braced for a data-heavy week of labour reports.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 10.2 points, or 0.02 per cent, at the open to 48,987.36.
The S&P 500 rose 6.0 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 6,908.03, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 51.1 points, or 0.22 per cent, to 23,446.959. REUTERS
