Weak start to the week for STI
The index eases 14.64 points to close at 3,207.99, amid wait for proceedingss on the US Federal Reserve's meeting
The local market was in a cautious mood on Monday for the most part, as investors await proceedings of the US Federal Reserve's June meeting this week to see where interest rates are heading.
Singapore's Straits Times Index (STI) closed at 3,207.99, easing 14.64 points or 0.5 per cent.
IG market strategist Pan Jingyi said that Monday's performance was little affected by May's non-oil domestic exports figures, even though they were the poorest in over three years. "Export figures for May did beat consensus expectations, resulting in little impact upon the broad market."
