Weaker estimates cast shadow over Visa share price

Q1 gain better than expected, but full-year expenses expected to be higher

Visa Inc's Q1 net income rose to US$2.52 billion while Mastercard's Q4 profit fell to US$227 million, including a one-time tax-related charge of US$981 million.


VISA Inc reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit on Thursday, joining rival Mastercard, as a solid holiday shopping season boosted transactions on its payment network.

However, shares fell 1.52 per cent in extended trading as Visa sees higher full-year expenses...
