'TIS the season of hope for global investors. Barely a month after the Omicron variant sparked a nasty sell-off, market confidence appears to be well on the way to recovery.
The S&P 500 index ended last week at another record closing high of 4,725.79 - more than 4.7 per cent above its recent closing low of 4,513.04 on Dec 1, when Omicron sent ripples of panic across financial markets.
Closer to home, the Straits Times Index ended last week at 3,108.28 - more than 2.2 per cent above its Omicron-inspired closing low of 3,041.29 on Nov 30.
