Wilmar's Kuok going for global consumer dominance
Palm oil processor's rice, flour and edible oil businesses are increasing in importance, CEO says

PALM oil processor Wilmar International is aiming to become a major consumer products company in the world, chairman and CEO Kuok Khoon Hong said at an event after the firm's annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday morning.
Within four to five years, its consumer business which sells products like packaged rice, flour and oil is "likely to be our group's most important business division", he said.
Demand in Asia, in particular, has the potential to increase "very rapidly" due to the continent's sheer population and growing middle class demanding more and higher quality food, he said.
