Yield pressures weigh on SATS earnings, but also open new doors

Some airlines are looking into restructuring, and that may involve spinning off ground assets: CEO

YIELD pressures may have continued to eat into SATS Ltd's first-quarter results, but they are also opening up new opportunities that the company is already looking at.

"Airlines have to think more radically about how they can restructure, and that involves spinning off airline assets, including ground assets," SATS chief executive officer and president Alex Hungate said at a briefing on Friday after the release of financial results for the three months that ended June 30, 2017.
