Americans seen blowing US$1.1b on sweets, mostly chocolate, on Feb 14

IT'S Valentine's Day this Sunday, and Americans will buy US$1.1 billion of confectionery to mark the occasion, the Washington-based National Confectioners Association has said.
This is up 2.6 per cent from last year and the most since at least 2011. About three-quarters of that will be chocolate.
