Black on black with Ion Orchard
TOMORROW'S edition of The Business Times will have a UV-coated black-on-black cover. This visually-distinctive design will be a first not just for BT, but for any newspaper in Singapore.
The cover is a collaboration with Ion Orchard to present its tenants' latest watch collections.
Ion Orchard celebrates its 8 Years and Beyond anniversary this year, which makes the mall's 2017 Watch and Jewellery season a special one.
To mark this milestone, Jaeger LeCoultre has created a limited edition Reverso watch that features Ion Orchard's facade. Other watch and jewellery brands at Ion Orchard have also brought in special timepieces and exclusive jewellery collections.
"True to our promise of offering cutting-edge and innovative retail and marketing concepts, we decided to go for a bold, never-been-done-before, full black-out concept for the cover design of our Ion Orchard 2017 Watch and Jewellery cover wrap in The Business Times, which will draw attention to this special season," said Chris Chong, chief executive of Orchard Turn Developments.
BT editor Wong Wei Kong shares Mr Chong's enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We're really pleased to offer advertisers a new premium product," said Mr Wong. "Even as we expand our digital offerings, we continue to innovate in print. Print remains a rich and powerful medium with unique qualities. Anyone can go online these days, but not anyone can print."
Tomorrow's black-on-black cover is just one of many BT collaborations with Ion Orchard. For example, on Aug 24, BT will present a sold-out Luxe sake pairing dinner at Japanese restaurant Magosaburo at Ion Orchard, which will feature a multi-course menu showcasing Wagyu beef, paired with sake selected by sommelier Joan Lim, who will introduce the pairings to the diners.
