China biggest offender in surge of counterfeit ICT goods, says OECD
Its report says such fake goods hurt the industry, violate IP rights and put consumer trust, health and safety at risk

NEARLY one in every five mobile phones and one in four video-game consoles shipped internationally is fake, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) says in a new report, which names China as "the primary source" of such fake ICT (information and communications technology) goods.
And this growing trade in such counterfeits weighs on consumers, manufacturers and public finances, the Paris-based body suggested.
