FDA toughens rules on reusable medical devices

It issues new requirements on testing procedures in the wake of news that two people had died in California hospital from deadly bacteria traced to duodenoscopes

Officials at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles reported that five patients had fallen ill and two had died from what they said were contaminated scopes.
