HONG KONG hotel heiress Poman Lo sketched a galaxy-trotting canine and his companions for a charity project eight years ago. Now she's transforming them into a Chinese entertainment and education empire.

The creator of Bodhi and Friends wants to parlay the success of her award-winning animated series, which began airing nationally on Chinese television last year, into e-books, mobile applications and learning centres for children. Think Dora the Explorer for China.
