JAPAN'S parliament is set to legalise casinos on Wednesday, ending years of political wrangling and opening the way for billions of dollars of potential investment.

A revised casino bill is expected to pass in parliament's upper house in a session that was scheduled to start at 11:30am Japan time. It then must be approved by a lower plenary session.
