CYCLISTS who do not own a bicycle or have trouble transporting a bicycle will not have to worry about these issues at this year's OCBC Cycle, Singapore's largest cycling event.
At the launch on Monday, OCBC announced that the company has partnered Mobike for the first time to offer more than 2,000 bicycles rent-free. This also marks the first time a bicycle-sharing company is involved in a cycling competition in Singapore.
OCBC chief executive Samuel Tsien said that the partnership was inspired by the growing acceptance of a bicycle-sharing culture in Singapore.
As long as the participants have a Mobike account, they can redeem a free bicycle ride for use over the event weekend on May 5-6.
Furthermore, all participants will receive a complimentary 2018 pass that will allow them unlimited free Mobike rides till the end of the year.
OCBC Cycle is also collaborating with The Straits Times (ST) Run for the first time. The participants of OCBC Cycle 2018 will receive a 5 per cent off registration fees for The Straits Times Run, said OCBC. ST Run participants taking part in OCBC Cycle will also enjoy this discount.
