Move indicates that e-commerce purchases have surged to new heights over the holiday season

    UNITED Parcel Service (UPS) is on track to return a record number of packages this holiday shipping season, a sign that e-commerce purchases surged to new heights over the past month.

    The world's largest package delivery company and rival FedEx get paid by retailers such as Amazon.com and Wal-Mart Stores for handling e-commerce deliveries.
