Linde names Singaporean Sanjiv Lamba as global COO
LINDE, a global industrial gases and engineering group, has appointed Singaporean Sanjiv Lamba as its chief operating officer (COO) effective Jan 1, 2021.
He will be responsible for the regional operating segments of the Americas, Asia-Pacific, as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will also be in charge of Linde Engineering, Lincare and certain global functions, initiatives and businesses.
Mr Lamba will report directly to Linde chief executive Steve Angel and relocate to Danbury, Connecticut, in the US.
Before the new appointment, Mr Lamba held roles such as executive vice-president of Asia-Pacific and head of regional business units in South and South-east Asia. He also held various financial positions during his 31 years with Linde.
Mr Angel said: "Today's announcement is a reflection of the confidence the board and I have in Sanjiv's ability to continue to drive Linde's performance by leveraging digitalisation initiatives across every aspect of our business and capitalising on opportunities for future growth including healthcare, electronics, and clean energy."
In August 2020, Linde broke ground for its upcoming US$1.4 billion integrated manufacturing complex in Singapore, the single largest investment in the company's history.
