McDermott consortium bags Vashishta contract

Award by India's Oil & Natural Gas Corp confirms earlier BT report of the group as frontrunner

INDIA'S state-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corporation has awarded McDermott International Inc and L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering a turnkey contract for major subsea field infrastructure lined up under the Vashishta and S1 deep-water greenfield development off India's East Coast.

The award to the McDermott-L&T consortium confirms an earlier report in The Business Times tipping the pair as the frontrunner in a recently concluded tender for the Vashishta-S1 subsea contract.
