REC marketplaces good for local firms, but face regional competition

THE recent launches of renewable-energy certificate (REC) marketplaces in Singapore indicate a growing appetite for these tradable certificates, industry observers told The Business Times.
These RECs will benefit these companies in meeting their sustainability goals, these observers said, but added that the longer-term success of such marketplaces in Singapore remains to be seen.
