THIS Hari Raya Puasa, organisations have come together to share the festive warmth and cheer. This includes Deliveroo Singapore, and a grassroots alliance consisting of A Group of Philanthropists (AGOP), Heartwarmers, Sheng Siong Group and Standard Chartered Bank.

Deliveroo Singapore announced last Monday that it partnered Migrant Workers' Centre to deliver up to 1,600 free iftar meals to foreign workers during Ramadan. From April 16 to May 7, 30 Deliveroo riders delivered free iftar meals every Friday to five dorms over four weeks for beneficiaries to enjoy.

The meals were prepared by Muhammad Shazainn Faiha Muslim Food Paradise, with delivery fulfilled by Deliveroo.

Sarah Tan, general manager of Deliveroo Singapore, said: "Migrant workers are a key part of our communities, and we want to highlight the significant contributions and sacrifices that they made - especially during these trying times."

The meals were donated as part of Deliveroo's Heroes to Heroes campaign, and marks the company's latest move in its series of community-focused campaigns.

AGOP, Heartwarmers, Sheng Siong Group and Standard Chartered Bank had also regrouped for the 13th consecutive year to commemorate Hari Raya Puasa.

From April 29 to May 1, over 600 corporate and individual volunteers packed and delivered 2,600 food packs to seniors and families in need.

These organisations come together every year to spend a weekend packing festive bags containing essential household and food items for vulnerable seniors and families in need.

AGOP and Standard Chartered Bank also rallied their staff as volunteers and contributed monetarily to make this year's event possible.

Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Health Masagos Zulkifli, who joined this year's volunteering efforts, said: "I hope that there will be many more of such ground-up initiatives by corporates, other community partners, as well as volunteers to uplift and support Singaporeans who are in need, so that we can build a more caring society together."
