Battling in grocery war, HappyFresh sees the light in 'dark stores'
The Indonesian startup expects to add over 100 delivery-only retail stores across the region

THE on-demand grocery delivery space is seeing an intense battle for market share, but Indonesia's HappyFresh believes that it can hold its own against rivals, especially with its recent embrace of "dark stores" - retail outlets designed exclusively for online delivery.
"Definitely, I believe competition in this space has heated up over the last 2 to 3 years. But that's also an indicator of how big the opportunity is," said HappyFresh chief executive Guillem Segarra over a video call from Thailand.
