RESTAURANT booking platform Chope has invested S$1 million into Getz Group, a provider of digital payment services for the food and beverage (F&B) industry.

This is part of Chope’s aim to enable diners to order and pay at restaurants with just the startup’s app, it said in a Wednesday (Jul 27) press statement. Getz specialises in ordering solutions for online food delivery and in-store table ordering, as well as point of sales systems.

Chope had previously invested S$500,000 in the second Series A round of hawker food delivery platform WhyQ last November.

With the resumption of dine-in, many restaurants are now struggling with staff shortages. Chope aims to digitalise “Asia’s giant foodservice industry in the way that e-commerce has done with shopping”, said its founder and chief executive officer Arrif Ziaudeen.
