Crypto payments firm TripleA raises US$4m in funding led by Razer’s zVentures
CRYPTO payments company TripleA has raised US$4 million in its first funding round, led by Razer’s corporate venture arm zVentures, it said on Thursday (Jun 16).
Singapore-based TripleA has a digital payment token licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, which allows it to provide end-to-end cryptocurrency payment services for businesses in full compliance with global regulatory standards.
Eric Barbier, founder and chief executive of TripleA, said: “This strategic investor partnership with zVentures brings knowledge, connections and consultancy in the gaming sector for TripleA, a key vertical for crypto payments.”
TripleA was founded by Barbier, who has more than 15 years of fintech and payments experience and has co-founded various payment companies including Mobile 365 and TransferTo, now known as Thunes and DTone.
The funding follows a recent announcement of TripleA being selected by Binance as its global cryptocurrency gateway.
Noting that crypto payments is an area of interest and relevance to Razer in the gaming space, Lee Li Meng, chief strategy officer at Razer, said: “Through zVentures, we are always on the lookout for market-leading, early-stage companies such as TripleA, to nurture and support them.”

Separately on Jun 20, TripleA said it has received funding as the first investee of Moonshot Fellowship - a programme by South-east Asian venture capital firm Insignia Ventures Partners to invest in and support ventures related to the Web3 ecosystem. The monies are also part of the funding round led by zVentures.
Apart from receiving funding, TripleA noted that the inclusion into the Moonshot Fellowship allows it to join a community of Web3 ventures in the region, with shared support amid the challenges of scaling in emerging markets.
