foodpanda delays roll-out of S$0.29 platform fee to Nov 26
FOOD delivery company foodpanda Singapore will start implementing a platform fee of S$0.29 for all orders. The roll-out, originally planned for Nov 21, has been pushed back to Nov 26 (Friday).
foodpanda said the fee will be used to develop and upgrade features on its platform. This includes regular platform maintenance and increasing resources for foodpanda merchants.
GrabFood Singapore also charges a platform fee, of S$0.30, on all delivery orders. It charges a variable small order fee for orders less than the minimum order amount.
Deliveroo Singapore does not impose a "platform fee" but charges an equivalent "service fee" of S$0.30 on all orders, which it says goes towards 24-hour customer service and app improvements. It also has a variable small order fee.
foodpanda users are subject to minimum order values for certain merchants, and have to pay the difference if the minimum order value is not met.
foodpanda customers can now tip delivery riders, with the full amount going straight to the rider.
