1MDB has 5 more days to pay US$629m to IPIC
July 31 deadline passes; 1MDB has indicated it is committed to paying the amount in August
Kuala Lumpur
MALAYSIA'S embattled 1MDB has been given five additional working days to pay US$629 million owed to Abu Dhabi's International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) after it missed the July 31 deadline. 1MDB has indicated it is committed to paying the amount in August.
In a brief filing to the London Stock Exchange, IPIC said it had not received the first payment of US$603 million plus the US$26 million due under a consent award and settlement by Malaysia's Ministry of Finance (Inc) and 1MDB, reached in April between the parties including IPIC subsidiary Aabar Investments PJS.
