AI key in Singapore's infocomm, media transformation map
SINGAPORE is set to invest even more dollars - over and above S$150 million - into artificial intelligence (AI), a frontier technology it has identified under the Infocomm and Media Industry Transformation Map (ICM ITM).
It will support budding AI enterprises, train AI professionals, modernise regulations around data for the purposes of AI, and build necessary infrastructure such as a National Speech Corpus.
The Business Times understands that these new initiatives will be funded on top of the S$150-million AI Singapore programme, set up only in May for AI research and development. A spokesman for the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) said: "IMDA is prepared to invest to help grow adoption of AI in Singapore."
