Alvin Tan, WongPartnership's Ng Wai King appointed to MAS board
MINISTER of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan and managing partner of WongPartnership Ng Wai King have been appointed to the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) board of directors, it announced on Friday (Nov 19).
Their appointments to the board will be for a term of 3 years from Nov 22, 2021 to May 31, 2024.
Prior to joining the government, Tan, who is also Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, was the director and Asia-Pacific head of public policy and economics at professional social network LinkedIn.
He also worked previously at Facebook as its head of public policy and trust and safety, and in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Ng is the managing partner of law firm WongPartnership, where his practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity.
He is also a member of the National University of Singapore's (NUS) board of trustees, the governing council of the Singapore Institute of Directors and the management committee of Lakeside Family Services.

Additionally, he is a director on the boards of investment company Wah Hin and Company and the Singapore Institute of Legal Education.
Ng graduated from NUS where he was awarded the AV Winslow Prize.
He also obtained a Master of Laws from the Columbia University School of Law where he graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, an award recognising outstanding academic achievement.
