A SURGE of positive news on the US economy has left Americans with the impression that it is about time for a raise.
The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan final consumer sentiment poll for December on Tuesday showed that consumers expect an increase of 1.7 per cent in their incomes in 2015, the highest since 2008 and up 1.1 per cent from the prior three months. Those under 45 had the strongest expectations, at 4.7 per cent, up from 2.9 per cent this time last year.
