Bobby Chin appointed HDB's deputy chairman

THE Ministry of National Development (MND) announced on Wednesday board appointment changes at the Housing and Development Board (HDB), which will see former managing partner of KPMG Singapore, Bobby Chin, as HDB's new deputy chairman.

The new term of the HDB Board will be from Oct 1, 2015 to Sept 30, 2018. The other new members include Lily Kong, provost and Lee Kong Chian professor of social sciences at Singapore Management University; Heng Chye Kiang, dean, School of Design and Environment at National University of Singapore (NUS); Sudha Nair, executive director at the Centre for Promoting Alternatives to Violence (PAVE) and Teoh Zsin Woon, deputy secretary (development) at the Ministry of Health.

James Koh Cher Siang has been re-appointed as chairman. Six other members have been re-appointed. They are: Matthias Yao Chih, director of Agmonton Pte Ltd; Ong Chong Tee, deputy managing director (financial supervision) at Monetary Authority of Singapore; Tham Sai Choy, managing partner of KPMG LLP; Tan Wei Ming, Mervyn, commander, Headquarters Air Defence and Operations Command at the Ministry of Defence; Mohd Sa'at bin Abdul Rahman, editor of Berita Harian/Berita Minggu, and Cheong Koon Hean, chief executive officer of HDB.

The four members stepping down are Tham Kui Seng, director at The Straits Trading Company Ltd; Chng Sok Hui, chief financial officer of DBS Bank Ltd; Ong Toon Hui, dean and chief executive officer of Civil Service College as well as deputy secretary (development) at the Public Service Division, and associate professor Yu Shi Ming, Department of Real Estate, NUS.
