Brexit White Paper debate likely to throw up multiple hurdles
Dozens of amendments to Bill expected, which if accepted, could hamper govt negotiations with EU
London
DOZENS of amendments to the Brexit Bill in the coming three days could frustrate the government's proposal to begin negotiations to leave the European Union (EU) by the end of March.
Last week, the overwhelming majority of MPs voted in favour of honouring the Referendum and triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which begins a two-year process to leave the EU. In the next three days, however, MPs will debate a White Paper that sets out the government's negotiation aims with the EU.
