UK's status as active global player unchanged, says British envoy

THE swifter-than-expected transfer of power that resulted in Theresa May succeeding David Cameron as Britain's prime minister on Wednesday has brought an end to the brief period of political instability in the country, the British High Commissioner to Singapore has said.
Speaking to The Business Times on Thursday, Scott Wightman said: "For two weeks (after the Brexit vote on June 23), there was uncertainty about the future leadership of the UK, which people thought would be resolved only by September.
