Cameron recommends UK stay in EU after deal

[BRUSSELS] British Prime Minister David Cameron said he would urge Britons to vote in favour of remaining in the EU in a referendum after winning on Friday a package of controversial reforms to Britain's ties with the bloc.

"This is enough for me to recommend that Britain remain in the European Union," Mr Cameron said after marathon talks with EU leaders in Brussels.

Mr Cameron had said he would back a 'Yes' vote in a referendum - now expected in June - if he secured a "special status" in the 28-nation EU to curb immigration and safeguard its non-euro economy.
