Cash flow help and wage support useful, but SMEs still worry about jobs

Firms in the red are unlikely to dish out salary increases or benefit from corporate tax rebate, they say; businesses also await more details on relief measures

BUSINESSES lauded moves in the Budget that will help them with their cash flow needs at this crucial juncture, but they are not certain if the Enhanced Wage Credit Scheme and corporate tax rebate will be enough to save jobs in struggling companies.

Even as financial support for workers' wages is welcomed, companies that are in the red, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are unlikely to dish out salary increases or benefit from the tax rebate, they pointed out.
