China factor seen having big impact on Singapore cruise sector

GROWTH of the Singapore cruise industry has been flat this year, though its future looks strong with a great deal of potential particularly from the China market.
Lee Yi Shyan, Senior Minister of State for Trade & Industry and National Development, calls it "one of the important pillars of tourism". He added that to tap the Asian region's burgeoning growth, the Republic "should re-intensify its effort to link up with the cruise liners in the region".
