China's April trade remains strong despite tensions with US

Imports last month rose 21.5% while exports grew 12.9% year-on-year even with tightening measures in place

CHINA'S exports and imports remained strong in April, with the surplus with the US widening month-on-month.

Imports in April jumped 21.5 per cent while exports grew 12.9 per cent year-on-year, a sign that both domestic consumption and demand for China-made products remain strong despite implementation of domestic tightening measures to curb financial risks.
