China's factory deflation eases in August

Consumer prices inch up 1.3%; producer-price index improves for an eighth straight month

CHEAPER FOOD: The National Bureau of Statistics says the slower increase in consumer prices in August was mainly due to food prices, which rose 1.3 per cent, the least since January 2015.
