China's foreign minister to attend G-20 meeting alongside Tillerson

CHINESE foreign minister Wang Yi will attend a G-20 gathering this week, China announced on Tuesday, setting up a possible first encounter with new US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Last week, as Sino-US tensions over Taiwan simmered, it seemed Mr Wang would skip the meeting of top diplomats from the Group of 20 nations opening in Bonn on Thursday to be at a Beijing event.
