Denmark imposes quarantine for travellers from Singapore
TRAVELLERS from Singapore will have to serve at least four days of quarantine in Denmark. In a Facebook post on Nov 11, the Embassy of Denmark stated that "Singapore is now considered a high-risk country for travel to Europe".
Denmark was recently added to Singapore's Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme, which allows for quarantine-free travel for those flying into Singapore via designated VTL flights.
"Denmark does not presently recognise Singapore's vaccination certificate and therefore does not differentiate between vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers from Singapore," the embassy said in its Facebook post.
Travellers will be required to test upon arrival and self-isolate for 10 days. They can break isolation on Day 4 with a negative PCR test.
Those who are exempt from the test and isolation include Danish citizens who are fully vaccinated, children below the age of 16, those who are on business and official travel, and travellers with a valid EU Digital Covid Certificate (EUDCC) or Danish Coronapas.
Denmark's move comes after the Council of the European Union removed Singapore from its list of countries for which travel restrictions should be lifted. The EU list, which is reviewed every two weeks, was updated to exclude Singapore and Ukraine on Nov 9.

When deciding whether to recommend travel restrictions for a particular company, the EU said the factors they take into consideration "cover the epidemiological situation and overall response to Covid-19, as well as the reliability of the available information and data sources".
The council's recommendation is not legally binding.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) director of air transport Daniel Ng said that while fully vaccinated travellers from VTL countries in the EU may continue to enter Singapore without quarantine, travellers from Singapore to these countries may be subject to additional entry requirements.
“Travellers are therefore advised to check the entry requirements as they could vary across countries,” he said.
Ng also noted that under the VTL scheme, CAAS can continue to review and adjust conditions for entry into Singapore as the global Covid-19 situation evolves. Similarly, other countries have the flexibility to adjust their border measures accordingly.
