[BRUSSELS] European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker on Monday defended the German police after violent protests at the Group of 20 meeting in Hamburg.
"The criticism voiced in hindsight is unjustified and incomprehensible," Juncker said in a statement.
"Every single police officer put their lives at risk. This deserves recognition, not criticism."
